Happy Birthday - AuctionBump.com is 3 Years Old Today
March 12th, 2010Wow time sure flies, 3 years old already, and it seems just like yesterday that the idea of the Bump was created. I remember like it was yesterday. I was sitting at my kitchen table trying to come up with a name for a website for the bump script that I created... Then it hit me, AuctionBump.com so I checked for the availability of the domain name, headed on over to Godaddy and made my purchase.
Our success and growth over the years would not be what it is if it were not for you, the bumpers and visitors to AuctionBump.com and we say thank you for your continued support!
Thanks!
Mr Bump
No Fish for You
March 10th, 2010I simply cannot believe my eyes today. The EPA with the stalwart support of the Obama administration wants to, wait for it, ban all sport fishing in the US. You heard me right – how to thoroughly piss off about 60,000,000 fishermen and women.
The Obama administration will accept no more public input for a federal strategy that could prohibit U.S. citizens from fishing the nation’s oceans, coastal areas, Great Lakes, and even inland waters.
This reminds me of that Sienfeld episode with the Soup Nazi, NO SOUP FOR YOU!
Is it almost time for the angry villagers with their pitchforks or tar and feathers to start marching? These clowns just might be biting off more than they can chew.

IRS to Track Online Sellers' Payment Transactions Beginning Next Year
March 9th, 2010Just wanted to share some information that I came accross today about the IRS tracking seller payment transactions beginning next yer. Read below.
Internet sellers who don't report their sales will no longer be under the radar. Starting next year, any bank or other payment settlement company that processes credit cards, debit cards, and electronic payments such as PayPal will have to issue information returns telling the IRS what merchants receive. The new returns are Form 1099-K, Merchant Card and Third-Party Payments. Read the full article here...
But don't worry my fellow ebayer's there is an exception built in that many of us small time sellers fall under. I found this bit of info below, in the article linked above:
Exception: Very small merchants won't be issued information returns. "Small" for this purpose means annual gross sales on merchant cards of no more than $20,000 or 200 or fewer transactions. In other words, reporting is required only if gross amounts for the year exceed $20,000 and there are more than 200 transactions.
