How to Buy an Eveready 6 Volt Battery
November 22nd, 2009Ok, so were going on a road trip to Florida for Thanksgiving weekend and I was checking my emergency supplies in my Jeep and noticed my flash light did not work. Well I can't go on a 2,000 mile plus road trip without a working flash light now can I?
So, I head on over to Target to pick up a new battery. Eveready 6 Volt you know the square shapped battery. Anyway, I head over to the battery display area and grab an Eveready 6 Volt and notice that the price was 7.79 and I am like what??? Expensive, I better not leave it on next time. Anyway, so being the curious person that I am I head over to the flash light area to see what they have. I scan the display and what do I see but my flash light with battery included for the low price of 5.49? Hum, must be a different battery? Nope, same battery. So not only did I save $2 bucks but I as got a new flash light and bulb to boot!
Thanks Target!
97 Honda Civic Why wont dome light come on?
October 2nd, 2009This post is about my daughters 97 Honda Civic's dome light not coming on when the doors open, so why is there a picture of radio on this blog post? Let me explain.
Last weekend, I was tooling around with my daughters car and noticed that when you open a door the dome light did not come on. So I tried each door and no light. However, the dome light does come on if you switch to manual ON position, but then the light does not go off when you shut the doors. So I call my brother the mechanic, he told me to check the little switches on the doors and to aslo check the dome light to make sure it was properly grounded. Everything looked good so I went to my friend google.
Google search results were not making any sense. Dome light controled by the factory radio wiring? Huh? The factory installed radio in my daughters car was replaced with a cheapo radio prior to us buying the car. Next stop eBay.
Ebay search results were fantastic. I found a nice factory radio for a 98 Honda Civic EX that was compatible for my daughters 97 Honda Civic EX for $20 dollars plus shipping. The radio was delivered in 2 days!!! I installed the factory radio and the dome light now works great.
Who would of thought that the radio wiring on a 97 Honda Civic EX would control the dome light...
Karrigan
July 14th, 2009The Bump house had visitors this past Sunday night. My nephew's band Karrigan, which is traveling around the country this summer on the WARP Tour circuit promoting their band, made a stop at the bump house for some rest and relaxation. Their next stop on the Vans WARP Tour is in Columbia, MD at Merriweather Post Provilan on Tuesday July 14, 2009.
Karrigan is from Orlando Florida. My newphew is Keith, he plays the drums. Mr Bump and my Bump Daughter will be seeing Karrigan play live at the Vans WARP Tour in Orlando on the 24th of July and we can't wait to see them rock the crowds and cheer them on!
Listen to their new song "Sleeping with Your Lights On" : Karrigan Rocks (Myspace)
Movie Review: Public Enemies
July 11th, 2009Mr Bump is not in the habit of reviewing movies, but since I saw "Public Enemies" today and I thought I would share my thoughts on the movie. Public Enemies was what I thought a good movie. First I would like to say that this movie is not for everyone. Having said that, if you enjoy old cars, the 30's, and tommy guns, well this movie is for you. What I liked most about his movie is rap-rap-tat-tat of guns going off during the shoot out scenes. The sound track was awesome in that aspect.
Johnney Depp was awesome playing the part of John Dillinger, cool, funny, and a gentleman. The movie was rated "R" for ganster violence and some language which seem to be pretty lame in the movie which was ok by me. Yes, there was blood, but most of the bullets ended up in windows, walls, and cars. Even the so called sex scene was whitewashed which was ok by me since my daughter was with me.
If your a history buff, 30's ganster fan, or just enjoy a good movie I would suggest seeing it, but only once.
The Media Has No Clothes, part 1
July 10th, 2009Mr. Bump has been watching the news lately and something strange is happening. The media seems to think that they should report on what they want us to believe instead of just reporting the actual news. Now I am not a journalist nor am I a famed blogger but I do have an opinion from time to time. What I am seeing from these so called journalist is nothing but propaganda and factless lies
In my blog post tonight I am not going into any details or specifics to my theory, as any normal educated person can figure out that on their own, but I will tell you that if you have ever heard the story of the The Emperor's New Clothes, you will understand where I am going with this series of blog posts titled " The Media Has No Clothes". More coming soon.
