Today is Friday July 23, 2010 and after a really hot week (upper 90's all week) driving through the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel on the way back from the BWI Airport I looked up and saw 112 on my Jeep's outside temperature gauge.  Wow, 112, my daughter took  the picture as we have never seen the temp guage go that high before.  My nephew Justin and his girlfriend Erin where up from Florida for the week and commented that it is HOT AS HELL here in Baltimore!  Well, here is the proof as outside temperatures where around 99 degrees today, inside the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel (895) it was 112 this was around 7PM.  Anyway, thought  I would share these record breaking temps with the net.  Do I like it?  Love it!

Fireflies have returned to the bump house which means summer is officially here!  After weeks of cool rainy weather summer has finally arrived at the bump house.  How do I know?  I just need to look outside in the bump yard on a hot summer night for the glow lights of these cool bugs flying around.  Seems there are more lightning bugs this year than recent years past or maybe I just never blogged about them.

When I was a kid we used to chase them down and collect them in glass jars, add a lid with holes punched in them and use them as a night light in our bedrooms at night.  Now I just sit on my back pourch and watch them float and flutter around in the dark of night.   The simple things in life always seem to amaze me.

My favorite season of the year. Summer! I like it Hot, Humid, Sticky, and Sweety. I also like my cookouts, cold beer, hotdogs, hamburgers, and corn on the cob. I love summer, but why is it so freaking cold out? Global warming it is not. I want my sizzling summer days back!
